Matan was born on March 21st, 2000 in Even Yehuda as the youngest child in the Ekstein family, with one older sister, Dana, and two older brothers, Nir and Maayan. His parents, Miri and Erez, raised him on the principles of love and care for the other, and his childhood was deeply rooted in the local community, where he was active in the scouts.
Matan was also deeply attached to his wider family, cousins and grandparents, spending weekends and holidays together as much as possible.
Throughout his short life, Matan loved travelling around the world, especially pursuing his ultimate passion: surfing (but we'll get to that later…)
